Core barrel T6 Series for all formations
T6 barrels can also be used with plastic "Coreliner" tubes with undersize bit and corelifter, to obtain an instantly "packaged" core.
T6 barrels can be used with water, mud or air flush, but when using air flush, oversize bits and core barrel couplings are recommended (available on request). The barrel is available in four nominal millimeter sizes, 101, 116, 131 and 146, as well as in the DCDMA hole size. The T6 is a core barrel of sturdy design suitable for coring in all formations. The barrel is used with core bits with a relatively thin kerf to maximize the rate of penetration.
The corelifter case is a push fit directly onto the inner tube (T6H and T6-101) or onto the extension tube (T6-116, 131 & 146) so that it slides down to rest on the bit when the core is to be broken. The entire load of the core is thus transferred to the outer tube. This design is especially important when working with large core diameters to prevent overloading the bearings.
The inner and outer tubes are manufactured to our own specification from cold drawn tube of a very high tensile strength and straightness. The head is manufactured from heat treated alloy steel to ensure a long life.
