Down The Hole Rock Drilling

Downhole rock drilling refers to the rock drilling method that the impact mechanism penetrates into the interior of the blast hole. The torque of the slewing gear rotates the hammer and the drill bit through the drill pipe. The rock bolt is located outside the exhaust hole of the impactor. Since the hammer of the downhole rock drill advances with the increase of the hole depth, there is no need to connect the long rod, so the impact energy transmission efficiency is not reduced due to the depth of the hole.

In 1939, Soviet Union Sidorenko proposed the idea of a subsurface hole drilling, and in 1953 he actually used a submerged drilling rig in Soviet underground mines. In 1956, China began to use submerged hole drilling in the underground. In 1973, it established and produced large-scale open-air drilling rigs, which are widely used in construction sites such as mines, hydropower, and transportation. 

The perforation speed of the submarine drilling rock is influenced by the depth of the hole. Therefore, the drill hole with larger diameter and deeper can be drilled than the rock drilling method, and because the impactor is in the hole, the noise is also small, but the impactor The diameter of the cylinder is limited by the hole diameter. It is not advisable to drill a hole with an aperture of less than 85mm. Compared with the cone drill, the axial thrust of the submarine drilling rock can only offset the rebound force of the impactor, only 500-2500N. It is much smaller than a cone drill, so the rig is simple in construction. Low price When the drill hole diameter is large, its drilling speed is lower than that of the roller cone, energy consumption is 20%-30% higher, and the reasonable hole diameter of the submarine rock drilling is 85-200mm.
